snowy christmas bauble

Hello all, back today with another card made using the snowy christmas set. This time I have used the bauble from the set.I was just playing really with some copper mica flakes I had and some gold chunky glitter . I stamped the bauble in black stayzon onto acetate and used my art institute glue on the back of the acetate and then pressed the mica flakes and glitter into the wet glue ,I have to say this did take about 12 hrs to dry but I likes the finished effect so it was worth the wait lol. I stamped the to the p of the bauble again onto copper satin finish foil board, cut it out and stuck it over the acetate . The bauble swings on the card,it is so easy to do this all you have to do is thread a piece of ribbon through the loop at the top of the bauble and then using the strong double-sided tape attach it to the back of the cream card. this secures your bauble to the card all you then need to do is make a bow and cover the top of the ribbon. The strip of mica flakes and glitter that goes across the bottom of the card was,a strip of the copper card that I just covered in my art institute glue and pressed my mica and glitter onto it.The border punch was from stampin up and I used punches for the snowflakes and swirls.  I added a black peel off greeting and a wood button and some twine to complete.Have a go at making swinging elements on your cards its easy and non crafters are very impressed at your skill…………don’t let on how easy it is to do,sit back and enjoy the praise.

Close up detail showing the movement of the bauble , Happy crafting  Alison,Kath and Louise xxxxxxx

PENNY BLACK BARGAINS

I am so excited to be able to show you these two cards today ,they are the first of the PENNY BLACK cards I will be showing you…….. be warned if you wish to purchase the stamps I have used we have very limited numbers of each design in some cases only one or two.Ihave been looking around on the web at prices and we are offering these stamps at a bargain price. Think about christmas presents for crafty friends I know a few of my friends who would like them , Penny Black  stamps are special to me for a lot of reasons ,Firstly because the first stamp I bought was a Penny Black christmas stamp a small mouse in a hat looking up, and I made all my christmas cards with it that year, the cards were very simple but I was very pleased with thethem lol. Secondly I met Alison because of Penny Black stamps , and I had my first project published in making cards magazine using these designs. So  next to Butterfly Kisses Penny Black are my favorite stamp company.I would also recommend  these stamps to anyone who struggles with colouring as most of the stamps come with a full colour image on the stamp which is easy to follow, it even gives you all the shading so you can just copy and get really good results.       The first stamp is called ASPIRE 3381K we have 3 of this design and they are £8.00 each with free p&p. I have used whispers pens on this design colouring directly onto the stamp and then I have used a little lilac glitter on the design to pick out some of the detail.

The next design is one of my favorite images BUTTERFLY BEAR 3696H , I have also used BUTTERFLY EDGE 3648K. Butterfly edge is £8.00 and we have 4 of these and Butterfly Bear is £5.50 and we have 10 of these if you buy both together we will charge you no postage.TO ORDER  CONTACT ALISON ON 01424532966 or e-mail her on sales@butterfly-kisses.co.uk  hurry if you are not to be disapointed .happy crafting Alison,Kath and Louise xxxxxxx

LOUISE’S LITTLE TIFFINY FLITTER CARDS

Hi all you lovely crafters out there in blogland lots to get through today .Firstly I would like to say I am so sorry for the lack of posts this week but I have been tucked up in bed with a flu-like virus it’s been horrible I just seem to be catching everything going at the moment . I’m not really very good at being ill I get very frustrated at having no energy and lying around , I think a bit of summer sunshine would do us all a bit of good, the lack of summer got me thinking about the fact that I had not even seen a butterfly this year…….to much time being spent in bed is my excuse and I’m sticking to it lol.Anyway I felt a little better yesterday and so spent a couple of hours making a couple of cards for you using my SMALL TIFFANY FLITTER STAMP. Which made me think of summer days and sunshine. I used the idea of a sketch to create two cards with the same design but very different looks.

This card is very on trend with its shabby chic vintage look, the papers I have used are  from the graphic 45 baby and bride collection .I have had them in my stash for a while but I have had trouble using them as they are just too nice to cut up lol. The lace borders are a Tim Holtz  vintage lace die and the sentiment is from craftwork cards and  the scallop circle punch is stampin up .The butterflies have been stamped in versafine vintage sepia ink onto some of the papers and small areas coloured with promarkers using the fine tips as the ink will smudge but I do not have a brown ink pad that is suitable to use with promarkers.

As you can see this card has a very different feel to it ,I think it proves that just by changing your ingredients you can create very different cards as I always say dig out your papers and stamps and play around . All the cardstock I have used here is  from dcwv the lace border is from the same Tim Holtz die I used before and the sentiment is from the around 2 its bashful bunny set. The butterflies have been embossed using gold detail powder .The small Tiffany Flitter and the large Tiffany Flitter are both available  as individual cling mounted rubber stamps I am sorry I do not know exactly how much they are but I know they are not expensive I think both would work out under £10.00 infact I think that price would probably cover your p&p as well .I think they are really good value for details contact Alison her details are on the side bar at the top of the page .

A FEW MORE CARDS FROM THE SHOW ON CREATE AND CRAFT YESTERDAY.

This was a simple card I used a paper from a messy rabbit cd I had in my stash. I printed it out ages ago for another project I was doing and didn’t end up using it  so I hope I am right when I say it was one of the inserts on the cd not a backing paper. The image was coloured using promarkers and I cut the scarecrow out and mounted it using silicone glue.I also used silicone on the sun and the birds. the image is stuck on the two sides and the bottom to form a pocket for the tag that I have placed next to the card so you can see it clearly and the sunflowers have had glossy accents put on them.

This was a 4 x 4 ” card it was just a very simple idea how to create a card from the set without using the scarecrow ,all I used was the small floral swirl stamp and the greeting all the card ribbon and border punch are stampin up.The flower was done with punches and watercolour paper and coloured with an ink pad .

This card again was very simple I have used a stampin up craft card I understand it has been discontinued but they do have a colour that is very close to it .I used a large waterbrush and aquamarkers in soot black and henna I scribbled the ink onto my craft sheet flooded my large waterbrush and tapped it as I held it above the card to create the splatter background. the scarecrow was stamped onto the same card and coloured with promarkers .The greeting was stamped onto a piece of stampboard love this stuff it just stamps so well and takes the ink so well if you have never used it I really would recommend trying it. the soil effect at the bottom was done with some copper embossing powder and some elements it’s a product I found at the nec  it’s a mix of glitter bits of dried flowers etc and this one is called bed of roses and it smells like roses and spices mixed it’s really nice. I have glued it to the card with art institute glue. I have so many ideas with this set and you don’t have to do a lot to create a nice card with it .I would love to hear from anyone who purchased it or send us a picture of the cards you made with it and we will post it on the blog . Anyway all for now crafty hugs to all Alison,Kath and Louise xxxxxxxx

GOOD NEWS – BRAND NEW SCARECROW SET HAS ARRIVED

Hi all, we here at Butterfly Kisses are really excited at the launch of our new SCARECROW STAMP SET which will have its TV debut on 27th of june at 10 am . The beauty set is also back in stock and featured in the show so if you were one of the unlucky ones who missed out last time I hope you  manage to get yours tomorrow.Good Luck xxxxx

I thought I would share my  scarecrow christmas card with you today all the stamps except the tree which is from the cottage hill stamp set ,come from the new set. There are a few other stamps in this set that I haven’ t used on this card but you will see them on some of the other cards that I will put onto the blog in the next few days . The Brrrrr! was a quickcutz alphabet ,but any letters would do.I guess I should also say that the card is 6″x6″ and the white card is bazzill bling.

We hope you like this set as much as  we do,I found this set really easy to work with but we only had a very short time to get the samples done and posted so all you lovely crafters can see them on create and craft so we all apologise for the lack of samples it was due to circumstances beyond our control but I have loads of ideas in my little ideas book so please keep checking back for more inspiration .I hope to post more tomorrow after the show . hugs to all Alison,Kath and Louise xxxxxxx

LOUISE’S VELLUM BUTTERFLY CARDS

Hello everyone sorry about the lack of posts this week it’s been a bit crazy here as usual lol. At last  as promised here are the butterfly cards I promised , but better late than never . These cards have been made using the LARGE TIFFANY FLITTER STAMP there is also a small Tiffany Flitter stamp available both are on cling mounted rubber .If you want to get hold of these stamps contact Alison on 01424532966 I am not certain but I think the large butterfly works out at about £5-£6 + P&P .This is such a pretty stamp and fantastic for all your girly cards .

This card is A4 folded length ways .I like this card fold when I make penny slider cards as you can have a real long length for the butterfly to twirl along .The butterfly was stamped onto vellum with a versamark ink pad and embossed in white detail powder. The papers are from a hot of the press  pad I had in my stash.

This is another idea using the same ingredients  just  incase you don’t want to do the penny slider card . These cards would also look really good done in stronger colours navy, red and the butterfly in white would work  really well and look very topical.Try different colours to suit your friends taste.

OTHER NEWS – We are all very excited as we are launching a brand new stamp set on Wednesday on create and craft THE SCARECROW SET . I love this set I have been playing with it over the last couple of days and have had to send the cards off for the show ,but have loads more ideas . I was surprised how versatile this set was and how many different occasions you can use it for. check out the show for ideas and as usual I will post them on the blog  after the show.

Last thing before I go off to make some tea, we are also very excited that we are going to be in the July issue of papercraft essentials magazine we were invited to do an article using the same stamp to create five different cards so look out for it in your local supermarket or craft shop it goes on sale on the 5th July . Well enjoy your weekend and happy crafting  HUGS ALISON,KATH AND LOUISE XXXXXX

LOUISE’S PURPLE MASQUERADE

Another card today using the NIGHT MASQUERADE SET,we have done so many cards with this set it is just so easy to use and lends itself to so many different styles .I love using this set, I also seem to be using more and more purple and lilac in my cards at the moment I have a couple of pretty cards with our TIFFANY FLITTER STAMP that I will put on the blog in the next couple of days so check back to see them soon.

Todays card is quite an easy card to do the embossing powder is cosmic shimmer viola black aurora, the word dream and the star were quickcutz dies I wanted a smaller star and hadn’t got one so I die cut the same one twice and then cut one of them down a bit. the butterflies are a die-namics die and the swirl is a magnolia doohickey die which I have cut to create a slightly different look. The silver and purple striped paper started out as just plain silver pearlescent paper but when I put it on the card it just didn’t look right so I took my versamark pen and drew the stripes  onto it and embossed it .I often do things like that, I like to make my own backgrounds or start with a plain paper and play around with it, if you have never tried it please have a play it’s so much fun and I find it works really well especially when nothing in your stash seems just  right. back soon with my Tiffany  Flitter cards have a lovely weekend HUGS TO ALL ALISON,KATH AND LOUISE XXXXX
