KATH’S BLACK AND WHITE MADAME CHIC

I thought I would  give you all a rest from christmas cards today and share with you another of Kath’s lovely cards done with the MADAME CHIC stamp set I love black and white cards I think they always look so smart.

This is what I call a z card, it’s a card that has the front folded back towards the spine.

Kath has used the background word stamp from the set and repeat stamped it to create a background  it is so easy with this stamp as being clear you can see exactly where to place it to create a seamless look.this background has been matted onto holographic silver card.

The main image has been stamped in black and embossed in clear embossing powder.Kath has added a flower and a gem and a few peel off dots and a ribbon to complette.

Hope you are all keeping well and enjoying our great british summer lol some more sun would be nice but while it’s cool we can stay inside and craft ……I don’t seem to be getting much done at the moment my husband is working away for 6 weeks and I am finding it hard to get enough time to craft so I am sorry if I am not updating the blog as often as I usually do but I will try to keep it as regular as possible.Anyway it’s getting late and my bed is calling me so goodnight back soon with more ideas .

IT’S A SNOWY CHRISTMAS

Another of Kath’s fantastic cards today, love this card, I had never thought of the old crock set as a christmas set but  when I saw this card I wish I had .Kath has a fantastic way of creating quite simple cards which look really effective.

The background of this card has been created by simply using two backing papers and the snowy effect is completed by using the white flowersoft and the die cut christmas tree. The car has been stamped using black ink onto cream card. The look is completed by adding the ribbon ,bell and a peel off greeting . I will be using the old crock car this year for some of my christmas cards thanks to Kath’s fantastic card.I always say this but have a go at doing christmas with the old crock set .

ALL FOR NOW ALISON,KATH AND LOUISE XXXXXX

THE DREADED C WORD ALREADY

Today’s card is christmas, yes I know christmas seems a long time away but as all of us card makers know before we know it, it’s december and we are stressed out and rushing to do everything all at once……it’s always that way in my house anyway as I am doing cards for the blog and shows and never have enough time to do my own personal cards .It’s my friend’s birthday today and I still need to make her card before I see her tonight lol,so take my advice and remove the stress and be organised, and then when you’ve managed it please send me some tips as trust me I need  your help lol.

I have chosen to use the SNOWY CHRISTMAS SET which I love. You can create so many different cards with this set and it lends itself to traditional and contemporary designs as well,  you could make every christmas card you need this year with this one set and still not run out of ideas. I have about 200 cards to make every christmas and that number is growing each year,so I like to work in blocks of about ten cards per design. This way I don’t have to stress too much about how many ideas I need to come up with and also I don’t end up spending shed loads of money on supplies. My other massive tip is you do not have to go out and buy papers etc which are specific to christmas.Last year I used a die cuts with a view pad called linen closet which was aqua, cream and tan colours. But not a christmas image in sight ,I used one stamp set white cardstock and one 12×12 pad to make all those cards and still had papers left over and of course the stamps can still be used over and over again.

This year I will be using this set for my personal cards and I am going to be using copper and black as my colours. Of course I will do lots of other designs for the shows and the blog but this is a sneak peek at what I will be doing.

The backgrounds on the card are copper card that has a metallic brushed finish which I have stamped using the small snowflakes from the set, using a black stazon ink pad. The other background and the tree have been done using the ranger inkabilities in copper, silver and gold which I have used the applicator with the felt pad on it ,applied a couple of drops of each of the colours onto it and then randomly dabbed it onto a piece of acetate which I had cut to size and then using the stazon I stamped the background using the snowflakes onto the front of the acetate and the tree was done in the same way I stamped the bow twice and decoupaged it just to add a little interest.I aded some ribbon and a few black gems to finish it off .So 1 down 199 to go lol .Happy crafting back soon with more ideas ALISON,KATH AND LOUISE XXXXXXX

KATH’S OLD CROCK

Todays card is another using the OLD CROCK STAMP SET. Kath sent me this picture over quite a while ago but I have tried several times and it just would not load into the blog browser .I just decided tonight I would give it one last go and it looked like it wasn’t going to work ,but I went off to do something else ,came back about 15 minutes later to see the image had appeared .So it was just being very slow.I have several of Kath’s pictures that I have not been able to load so I hope I have found the solution now and will be able to share them with you all as I think they are lovely.

As you can see this is a large  8″x8″card I like the old route map Kath has used as part off the background and the P which has been cut with the cricut,I am now a proud owner of a cricut thanks to our lovely friend Trev, who sorted me out with one at a really good price thanks Trev xxxxxx so watch this space,I am looking forward to playing with it and seeing what I can come up with  that will work with our designs. My biggest problem is time my life is completely crazy,I promised a couple of weeks ago to do a tutorial with the around 2 it’s and have started it but haven’t finished it yet so I apologise for that I promise it will come eventually in my defence I have been quite poorly the last few weeks hopefully I am starting to turn the corner and will be feeling better soon .

BUTTERFLY KISSES STAMPS WILL BE APPEARING ON CREATE AND CRAFT ON MONDAY 28TH MAY  AT 9AM AND 3PM IN THE STAMPING WITH HOBBY ART SHOWS SO BE SURE TO TUNE IN AND SEE THE SAMPLES WE HAVE BEEN MAKING USING THE BEAUTY STAMP SET (I  will be putting the samples on the blog over the next few weeks with basic how to instructions ) well it’s getting late and my bed is calling so all for today crafty hugs to all ALISON,KATH AND LOUISE XXXX

LOUISE’S PARTY MASK

This card was the result of me deciding to see what I could do with the smaller stamps in the night masquerade set and I wanted to try using acetate.Sometimes I like to challenge myself and just see if things work ,I wanted to see if I could emboss onto acetate using the small masks .Please if you try this remember you must use heat-resistant acetate or the acetate will melt with the heat from the heat gun,I know because I have done it.It wasn’t a good look the acetate just shrivels up lol.

I decided to try embossing onto the acetate and then glittering the open mask from behind using the silver glitter and art institute glue, I used a hobby art aquamarine embossing powder  I then decided it would look good with some beadazzles around the edge of the acetate lol. The colour of the beadazzles I used was waltz and I have used stampin up cardstock in baja breeze and grey.I also used the small swirl from the set as a background for my glittered chip board party wording .This is a big card 8″x8″ it just shows that you can make a large card with a small stamp that’s why I love our sets they give us so many options to create different cards. See what you can do with your small stamps you might be surprised. All for now hugs ALISON,KATH AND LOUISE XXXXXX

WHEN IS A MASK NOT A MASK?

Hi,back again with a really simple little card today I was playing with the FLORAL MASK STAMP SET and wanted to have a go at doing a card without actually using the main mask image……I like to know that I can create a card just using the bits and pieces on the sets ,you know me and my multi use rule. So this was the result and as you can see the card is not a mini card.I created the card 30cm wide and scored at 10 and 20cm I am sorry I didn’t measure the hight of the card I just cut it at a point I felt it looked balanced lol………don’t forget to allow a little extra for cutting the curve top.For the curve I used a pot I have on my desk with my tools in lol anything round will do,don’t stress just have a go and once you get it right keep that one as a template unlike me who sent this card to Jenny for the C&C show and didn’t even measure it,in my defence I did this before we decided to start the blog,of course I promise I will measure anything like this I do in the future which would be helpful to all our lovely ladies out there in blogland .

The rest of the card is really just free style use the picture as a reference to help you I have used stampin up creamy caramel and chocolate chip ink pads and I have cut out some of the little flowers and added them to the images with silicone glue,I have inked the edges with the creamy caramel ink pad and added touches of glitter,a few pearls and a butterfly embellishment to finish.Hope I have managed to inspire you to get your stamps out and play back soon with more crafty hugs to all ALISON,KATH AND LOUISE XXXXX

KATH’S BLUE AND WHITE MADAME CHIC

Back again with Kath’s blue and white madame chic,Kath has used the wording background stamp to create not only the background and the tag but also on the flourishes she has used. The main image has been stamped in versafine onto blue and white card and layered. We have all used this technique with madame chic it is very effective and if you do not like colouring in it is an effective alternative. Kath has used a gold krylon pen to edge the various layers on this card I think it is very effective along with the touches of gold on the ribbon and the gems it gives a luxurious feel to the card.I hope you like it as much as we do. Well hope you have all had a good weekend back soon with more inspiration .
